One Piece: Emet’s True Strength, Explained

One Piece: Emet’s True Strength, Explained

The Iron Giant has been incredibly important in the Final Saga of One Piece, and fans are very excited to see this particular individual continue to play an important role as the Egghead Island arc draws to a close. Recently, Oda also revealed the name of the Iron Giant to the fans, and it has now been confirmed to hold the name Emet.

Emet is most certainly a very important character, both in terms of lower, as well as fighting capabilities. Of course, Emet shares a connection to Joy Boy, which fans do not fully understand as of yet, however, it will be explored later on the line. But, more importantly, Emet has a more important role, and given that it was created during wartime, it most certainly has fighting capabilities that fans need to be aware of.

Emet’s Creation

Emet Was Created Around 800 Years Ago

Emet was created at some point during the Void Century. It remains unknown as to when exactly it was created and who the person creating it was in the first place. What fans know for sure is that Emet was born during that time and that it fostered a very strong connection with several individuals, Joy Boy being the most prevalent one and the only one fans know about at this point in time. It is also unknown if Emet actually fought in the war long ago or not. While it certainly could have been a possibility, fans also need to keep in mind that Emet seems to have been given another role entirely by Joy Boy, which is more linked to the future coming of a special someone who would go on to become Joy Boy himself.

Regardless, fans know that Emet still played a significant role in battles in the One Piece world. One can assume that Emet fought during the Void Century in some capacity, even if it did not take part in the all-out war. Then, one also knows that 200 years ago, Emet scaled the Red Line and then, decided to run riot in the Holy Land of Marijoa. This was an event that the Five Elders also took notice of as they recognized Emet from that raid. Emet ran out of energy during this raid and the World Government ordered for it to be dismantled completely. However, the scientists were intrigued by Emet and wanted to study it.

Joy Boy, Where did you go? Want to see you. You were there, Joy Boy. Strange. So strange…

As such, Emet was preserved and kept on Egghead Island. Eventually, Vegapunk got his hands on Emet and created Vega Force based on it. However, the only problem he ran into was replicating the source of ancient energy that would run Vega Force like Emet. In other words, Emet was a creation completely different from Vega Force, given that the power cell was of a much higher level that Vegapunk could not even comprehend at the time.

How Emet Punched Warcury

Emet Damaged An Elder With Ease On Egghead

In the Egghead Island arc of One Piece, fans got to see a lot of Emet. Right from the very first few chapters of the arc, Emet was prevalent. In the junkyard on Egghead, fans got to see the Iron Giant fascinating Luffy. In fact, Luffy even tried talking to the Giant and ordered it to get up. Of course, it did not work back then, and then fans found out that Vegapunk was actually hiding the transmission snail inside the giant. Once he successfully did that, Oda already set up something much greater for the end of the arc, which fans are witnessing right now. As readers know already, the World Government, including the Five Elders, are currently on Egghead Island in an attempt to kill all the Vegapunks, prevent his message from reaching the entire world, and at the same time, eradicate the Straw Hats as well. This is an incredibly difficult goal, but with the Five Elders there, anything is possible.

In fact, the strength of the five Elders is absolutely mesmerizing, and it can be said that they can’t be defeated easily. Had it not been for external help through the Giant Pirates, the Straw Hat Pirates might have found themselves in a much more dangerous situation right now. What’s more, the Straw Hats did not have help just from the Giants. In fact, the Iron Giant, Emet, also jumped to their rescue, especially in One Piece chapter 1119.

In this chapter, while Luffy was busy fighting Peter, Warcury rushed past him and attempted to destroy the ship of the Giants. However, before it could actually do that, Emet sprung forth and punched it right across the face. This was absolutely spectacular for the fans to witness and he sent Warcury flying backwards, dealing tremendous damage to him.

Emet’s True Strength In One Piece

Emet Is On An Entirely Different Level At This Point In Time

Based on what Emet did to Warcury, one would naturally question his level of strength. For the longest period of time, fans were wondering if the Iron Giant would be strong or not. Of course, most individuals thought the Giant did carry a decent level of strength, but none would imagine it to be so powerful. Injuring Warcury is quite a big feat in itself. Fans need to keep in mind that Warcury has the toughest defense of anyone other than the Lunarians in One Piece. His defenses are so tough that not even Luffy in his Gear 5 was able to make a dent in him. All his attacks were absorbed by Warcury, as if he wasn’t even being hit. Fans need to understand that Luffy is a master of Haki and his Gear 5 ability is the strongest that the fans have seen in the story.

Yet, despite having all that, he could not even scratch Warcury in battle. The Iron Giant, however, was a completely different case. Emet was able to not just injure Warcury but break one of his tusks, which is absolutely sensational and a shock for the fans to witness.

This clearly implies that Emet has hidden strength that cannot be comprehended right now. This hidden strength obviously comes from his source of energy, which fans know to be the ancient energy. Emet somehow has ancient energy and where exactly it comes from remains unknown. Perhaps, Luffy’s Drums of Liberation channel this energy into him and make it functional. Or, it could also be that Emet has something complex built inside of him that allows him to move and that Luffy is just the trigger for the fuel to run.

Emet, listen! The time is at hand! – Joy Boy

Regardless, Emet is powered by ancient energy, and this energy is strong enough to damage the Five Elders. In fact, it might actually even be strong enough to damage the elders permanently, which is something that no character has been able to do as of yet. Fans simply need to sit back and wait to see what becomes of Emet in the coming chapters, and how he showcases his strength to the fans.
