After accusing the government of aggravating P.Diddy’s crimes, the rapper’s lawyer recently requested that the identities of his client’s accusers be made public.
Accordingly, in a letter sent to a Manhattan Federal Court judge, Diddy’s legal team argued that his client needs to know the names of the alleged victims in order to be fully prepared for the trial on May 5, 2025.
Diddy’s lawyer calls the recent allegations a hysterical ‘media farce’ that could potentially deprive his client of a fair trial
“This case is unique,” the letter said. They said that among those who filed appeals, there would certainly be people accusing their client because he was a famous , prestigious and wealthy person . Plus the information was released in a systematic conspiracy, which led to a series of accusations from unidentified complainants, ranging from false to completely absurd.
The move appears to be a reference to a lawsuit filed on November 16, 2023, by Combs’ ex-girlfriend, singer Cassie Ventura, accusing the rapper of physical abuse, rape, and 𝑠e𝑥 trafficking. Although the lawsuit was settled the following day, it sparked a wave of legal action against Combs from women and men who had suffered similar abuse.
In the letter, Combs’ attorneys also noted six additional 𝑠e𝑥ual assault lawsuits filed on Monday by anonymous accusers. “The accusers’ attorney recently held a press conference where he claimed to represent 120 clients and made outrageous and deeply damaging allegations…” they wrote.
The attorneys continued: “These allegations come on the heels of more than a dozen previously filed and pending lawsuits, some of which have been proven to be defamatory but which have undeniably caused harm to our client’s character and reputation. They have created a hysterical ‘media farce’ and, if left unchecked, will deprive Mr. Combs of the right to a fair trial that would otherwise have occurred.”
Combs, who was arrested in Manhattan on September 16 by the Department of Homeland Security, faces federal criminal charges of 𝑠e𝑥 trafficking and extortion and is currently being held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, New York.
