HMS Queen Elizabeth (R08) is the lead ship of the Queen Elizabeth-class of aircraft carriers operated by the Royal Navy of the United Kingdom. The ship was named after Queen Elizabeth I and was commissioned in 2017.
As an aircraft carrier, HMS Queen Elizabeth is designed to project naval power and support various military operations. It has a length of 280 meters (920 feet) and a displacement of approximately 65,000 tonnes. The carrier is capable of carrying up to 40 aircraft, including F-35B Lightning II fighter jets, as well as helicopters.
