🏴☠️ “Forget Joy Boy for a second… Oda just dropped a bombshell: Rocks D. Xebec is about to bring Devil Fruit back to the throne! While the whole world is immersed in Haki, Xebec alone is enough to force Roger and Garp to join forces. And now we know why: he has something no one else could dream of…”

There were many hints that sugesst that Rocks D. Xebec is a devil fruit user in One Piece, and he’s likely to have a overpowered one.

In the middle of Loki’s flashback, Eiichiro Oda unexpectedly unveiled Rocks D. Xebec’s character design. Now the infamous pirate has become the centre of attention in One Piece. He was always a subject of intrigue, and the flashback so far has revealed more information about him in the manga, but nothing about his powers yet.

While there’s no confirmation, Xebec is highly likely to be a Devil Fruit user. There are many plot points that hint towards him having an overpowered ability, and his ambitions further support this. It’ll also make for a refreshing change with how Haki has become more important for the power system of One Piece.

Eiichiro Oda Probably Has an Overpowered Devil Fruit for Xebec in Mind

Rocks D. Xebec is an extremely powerful and infamous pirate. He was the former captain of the likes of Whitebeard, Kaido, and Big Mom. Not much information has been revealed about exactly how strong he is, but he made Roger and Garp team up during the God Valley incident. So, he was probably on the same level as them or even stronger.

One Piece chapter 1154 revealed that Xebec is Blackbeard’s father, and Blackbeard is known to be greedy. He has multiple devil fruits and doesn’t mind using twisted means to become more powerful. Assuming that Xebec has a similar greed, he’s highly likely to have a Devil Fruit. Another thing that supports this notion is his love for Davy Back fights.

Davy Back fights are the perfect way to expand your crew by stealing crewmates. If he’s willing to steal crewmates to expand his crew, why would he shy away from getting his hands on the most powerful Devil Fruit? Another interesting detail is his introduction panel. He can be seen striking the peace sign with his hand.

This could be a random and quirky detail, or it could be related to his powers. Interestingly, both Roger and Garp are known to be extremely strong without any Devil Fruit powers. So, maybe it’s the Devil Fruit that makes all the difference between their combined strength levels and Xebec’s powers. Therefore, there are many signs that Xebec could be a Devil Fruit user, and all we need is a confirmation from the mangaka.

Lately, Haki has become the central focus for all power-related matters. From Luffy to Usopp, fans are eagerly waiting for more Haki-related power-ups for many characters. The appeal of Devil Fruits in One Piece has paled quite a lot compared to the earlier stages of the story.

If Xebec turns out to be a devil fruit user, the focus will once again shift back to devil fruits. Whether his Devil Fruit is deadly or silly, it’ll be interesting to see how he puts it to use and how his powers contrast with his rivals in One Piece.

Can you think of any devil fruits that would go well with Xebec’s characterization? Share your thoughts in the comments!
