Since the beginning of the Elbaph arc in One Piece, the two characters who have gained a lot of significance within the story are Shanks and Loki. While they were already important characters, Eiichiro Oda kept them a mystery, and he has now started unveiling their developments. One such development that fans are excited to find out about is why Shanks imprisoned Loki in Elbaph.

Although Loki has been hinted to be an anti-hero character for a long time, the central story has more or less cleared him. This adds another layer of mystery behind Shanks’ actions, and one of the speculations about this development that makes the most sense is that he wanted Loki to unite with Luffy and stop him from dying for his revenge against the World Government in One Piece.

What Drives Shanks to Unite Loki and Luffy?

Shanks’ character in One Piece has often been linked to the grand scheme of things, and the recent revelation of him being a destined child has only strengthened these developments. On top of that, he has acted as a mentor for Luffy since the very beginning and will most likely guide his actions in the remainder of the final saga, either directly or indirectly. Thus, it would make sense for him to unite Loki and Luffy.

As One Piece fans know, Loki is incredibly powerful and is deemed the strongest giant in Elbaph. Not only that, but he is also linked to the history of the world, considering his lineage as a giant. And just like Loki, Luffy is also on a completely different level in terms of power, especially after his Nika transformation, which has even earned him the status of Emperor of the Sea within the series.

While both characters have strength, it is not enough for them to individually take on the World Government and save the One Piece world. However, together, they might just be able to disrupt their tyranny and bring a new era to the world. It feels like an elaborate plan that Shanks might be working on, and judging by the developments of Elbaph, it looks like the two characters uniting might happen sooner or later.

Loki’s revenge against the World Government makes sense because it has been indirectly confirmed that Imu and his subordinates were somehow involved with Loki’s father, King Harald’s death. As he was one of the few characters to witness it through his own eyes, he most likely knew the story behind it and thus holds rage against the World Government. This would also explain why the World Government has given him a special bounty in One Piece.

While he couldn’t initially take down the World Government on his own, the support from Luffy and the rest of the Straw Hat Pirates might finally give Loki the power he needs to strike back and earn his vengeance. Plus, considering the previous storylines, it is safe to assume that Luffy has helped quite a few characters in taking their revenge against an enemy and saving their country in one way or another.

Also, it adds to the speculations of Loki joining the Straw Hat Pirates as their final member in One Piece. However, nothing can be confirmed until Eiichiro Oda reveals it himself within the storyline. Regardless, Elbaph arc and the upcoming narratives of the final saga are going to be extremely thrilling and unique. Do you think Loki will join the Straw Hat Pirates? Let us know below!
